Gorman Park

MULWALA

Explore the stunning outdoors North of the Murray. Gorman Park in Mulwala boasts 110 acres of beautiful natural bushland on the banks of the Murray river, New South Wales. A community group named the Grove Trustees, now called Alexandra Park Club, purchased the 110 acres of river frontage that was to become Gorman Park in 1925. In 2014, walking and cycling trails were completed and were named in honour of key local residents. A popular stop to see local bird life and often a kangaroo, picnic or exercise on the public exercise equipment.
Kyffins Reserve offers over one kilometre of shoreline and bush camping and walking tracks, on the banks of Lake Mulwala. Located approximately four kilometres east of the Mulwala township, on Lake Mulwala with access via Corowa Road. There is also a three kilometre walking track, beginning from Owen Bridge Reserve, hugging Lake Mulwala. Kyffins Reserve is a popular spot for fishing. There are no facilities available, but camping is free. The original Corowa/Mulwala road had to be deviated due to the full storage level of the Weir. For fear of flooding Mulwala to Yarrawonga was also listed to be re-aligned. Kiffins Reserve was named when part of Arthur Kiffins farm was resumed to build the new road which is now Spring Drive. Arthur Powell Kyffin was the first to enlist from the Yarrawonga Mulwala District in World War 1. He signed his Enlistment papers in Wangaratta 18th August 1914 No 356.
